Being popular
Well it has taken me a while to get around to this post. As some of you will know from http://rachel-a-lifeinlimbo.blogspot.com I was warming up for this last night! It’s interesting that having spent the last two or three weeks almost solidly writing for a series of clients I feel the need to warm up for this blog post but personal projects are so different from professional ones. I find that my mind gets stuck on work sometimes and it’s hard to disengage, even when all you want to do is write for something you love like your own blog!
But I digress. This post is not about the trials of work although you could argue that it was because I’m so popular that I have to spend weeks writing for clients and consequently have trouble disengaging. It’s a nice thought and it does show a kind of popularity that I’m willing to encourage!
The truth is this post is a little tribute to all my friends who support my little endeavours simply by being there and being themselves. I had an unpublishable comment from one such friend on my last blog post. I’m always keen to encourage comments and feedback on my blog but this really didn’t seem appropriate. It did make me laugh out loud though and it’s started a conversation that has kept me chuckling for over an hour. OK, it’s a minor distraction from getting my work done but one of the best things about the freelancing schedule I have is that it allows a good work-life balance. This morning I have no strict deadlines to meet and I can work at my own pace on a combination of my own projects and those of a client. As such I am in a good position to appreciate the friends I have and bask in the glow of their encouragement.
Perhaps I sound a bit ‘new age’ and cringe-worthy now but it’s all true so why not say it? I love getting feedback and feeling appreciated so why shouldn’t everybody else? This post is dedicated to my select band of biggest fans!

I’m a fan too! I read everything you post but am unable to leave comments on your personal blog as my stupid computer at work wont let me!
