Uncluttering
One of the most important rules of writing is to make everything as clear and simple as possible. This means cutting out extra words and avoiding ambiguity. It’s an uncluttered approach that I would like to use for my life as well as my writing.
Reviewing a piece of work and chopping out the odd word here and there is strangely satisfying. When I have finished, the work should flow and invite people to keep reading. If only my life were so simple and my desk that tidy!
Just as every piece of writing needs an edit or several its the same for our lives and work space. That is why I tidy my desk every week. That is why I remove old icons from my desktop and try to keep up to date with the washing basket. The only thing that complicates matters is the interruptions that happen in between ‘edits’.
So it turns out my life can have that easy flow!
