Offline success! Cheltenham SMC and Twestival

Last night I attended the first Social Media Cafe event in Cheltenham.

I was really nervous - partly because I’m not a natural networker but also because I was one of the organisers. As it happens, the evening was a huge success and everyone has been very complementary on Twitter. The venue, the cakes, and even the organisers have been given the thumbs up so we’re very happy now and keen to plan the next one.

You can find out more about the cafe at http://cheltsocialmediacafe.org.uk

I didn’t manage to talk to everybody on the night for which I can only apologise. However, I did manage to speak to lots of very interesting people such as @hojomo (of Cotswold Jelly fame), @jonnop (who doubles as @jpfestival for horse racing enthusiasts), @tingenuk (the llama farmer), @PRbySpa (guess what she does!), @Rich_Copy (of DigiTalks fame) and Pip from SuperDry (she does the blog).

I also got to spend some much needed R&R time with a few colleagues from @firehoop who were my fellow organisers and helpers. Many thanks to @solutionmania (the big cheese), @OnlyOnePorts (my social saviour) and @joeserg (our top designer).

Further thanks go to everyone else who attended and the people at 10 Yetis for their publicity assistance and friendly support.

See you next time?

So disappointed that I couldn’t make it. Still busy essay writing today.

Will 100% make it to the next one if I am around!

Yeah, essays can be annoying, they used to take over my life too! Good luck with it and hope to see you at the next one. (Or at #AddMe 2011)
